New NSW Deputy Premier takes helm at critical time for forest industries

The Australian Forest Products Association NSW (AFPA NSW) welcomes Paul Toole to his new roles as Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW, at a time when the state’s forest industries need critical attention.
“Right now, timber supply constraints for new construction are biting and the need to get more production trees planted is urgent. There are also great opportunities for our forest industries to tackle climate change,” said AFPA NSW CEO Sue Grau.
“Minister Toole already has a strong understanding of our industries, having previously served as Minister for Lands and Forestry and serving in the Bathurst electorate which includes forestry plantations and processors.
“I look forward to meeting with Minster Toole to fully brief him on the challenges and opportunities for our great businesses providing economic activity and employment across NSW.
“We will continue to work with the NSW Government and Minister Toole to support our value chain from seed to tree, to the products we love and use every day in the state,” concluded Ms Grau.
